Facebook is in news from past few days due to the data leak issues. On Monday Facebook admits that it records more data about you than your imagination. This data includes your phone calls & SMS even if those calls and SMS have nothing to do with Facebook. Other details include where you study, work and live etc.
You can however see what all your data is stored by Facebook. Follow the below steps to download and check.
1. Log in your Facebook account using the Facebook website www.facebook.com (Just go to the 3 dot menu at the top right and select Request desktop site while opening in android from chrome app since in mobile by default it opens as m.facebook.com )
2. Go to settings from top right side by clicking on the down arrow mark.
3. Opt to Download a copy of your Facebook data.
4. You will get an email from Facebook telling you when the data is ready for download.
5. Using the information Facebook has emailed you, download the data. This will be in a ZIP folder.
6. Open the ZIP folder using a program like WinZip or Winrar. Nowadays, Windows also has inbuilt ZIP file opener.
7. Inside the folder you will find a lot of files. Click on the INDEX.HTML file. This will open in a web browser and through it you can see how much Facebook knows about you.
